I chose the song 'Wavin Flag' by K'naan. I thought this song was a perfect example of leadership. Whether it be the K'naan version, or the Young Artists for Haiti verson, they both demonstrate leadership. Firstly, the song is all about speaking out, standing up and reaching out. The fact that K'naan wrote this song specifically for Haiti in their time of need says a lot about him as a leader.
One of my favourite parts of the song is the lyric 'We could be the reason that they see their flag rise again' from the Young Artists for Haiti version. This lyric says so much about the effort, and care that every leader takes towards their project. The song is a story of overcoming obstacles, and reaching out, even when your power is limited, or your voice isn't heard. Thats what true leadership is!
